How To Make a New Post

  1. Sign into CUNY Commons
  2. Click on the class 9:30AM tab on the left side corner.
  3.  At the very top of the page there will be a “+ New” button, click it !
  4. There will be a drop down menu with two options “post” or “media”. Choose “post”
  5. After typing up the good stuff, you can publish your post or you can also save your work if you want and return to it later.
  6.  Once you have finished, remember to check the box for the  9:30AM class in the “categories” selection. This is on the righthand bar.
  7. Add a tag to the post also located on the righthand bar, right underneath categories.
  8.  Finally, click on the publish button

 

How to make a post

Here are a few easy steps of how to make a post.
  1. Go sign in to class website.
  2. Click on the class 9:30AM tab on the left side corner.
  3.  You will see a drop down tab on the top left corner.
  4.  Which consider the CUNY Academic Commons, Fall 2018 Art 1010 at Brooklyn College, a message tab and finally you see a +New tab.
  5. Click on that “new” tab and drop your mouse done to the “post” button.
  6. Now your ready to post and you can also save your work if you want it to be finish later before publish.
  7.  You can also add media or picture, just clicking on the the “add media button” on the upper left hand corner in your document.
  8.  Once you have finish everything, just remember check on the 9:30AM class onthe “categories” selection. You do not your work go into a different class section.
  9. Last, remember to add a tag to the post and click on the publish button.

Posting a blog

Posting a blog for the first can be challenging but these simple 5 steps will make sure you never struggle with it again.

Step 1: Go onto the commons page and log into your account.

Step 2: Go to the title ” Art fall 2018 11am” and click on site.

Step 3: Once on the site you will see the word “new” on the top of the page, you will go to that and then click “post”.

Step 4: From there you can change the type of format, text, and even add media to the post.

Step 5: Once you are ready to post you click the publish button on the right side of the page.

Now you’re all set to go for whenever you want to post.

How to post your fantastic posts to Art 1010 Fa’18

Before you can run, you must learn how to walk. In order to successfully navigate your way through Commons, you should learn the basics. FYI. Your computer should be connected to the internet in some way. Otherwise, you should sap off your friend’s hotspot. 📲 💻

In order to post, open your browser and type in https://art1010shawfall18.commons.gc.cuny.edu/. Login to your activated Commons account with your username and password. Once logged in, navigate to the +New tab next to the little notification icon and click “Post.”
Choose an appropriate title (with a little bit of imagination). Begin typing the text of your post; remember to check your word count on the bottom left of the text box. Adjust your settings to whatever suits your needs (Knock yourself out pal, you’re almost done). You can customize text with bold, italics, color and hyperlinks among other things. Optionally, you can add media to your post by clicking “Add Media” at the top of the page, and adjustment is recommended for personal liking.
Upon completion, stroll on down to the bottom left panels and select your class category in Categories. Add an appropriate tag under the Tags, as Professor Shaw cannot find your post if it’s not right. Click the Publish button on the top right of the page once you’re done. Revision and edits are always available post publishing by returning the the post.

How to post a blog

Posting a blog for the first time is tricky business. Well, you’re in luck because I’m here to guide you on how to post your first blog. Follow these simple steps and you will be fine.

Step 1: Log into your Commons account.

Step 2: Go to “Art 1010 Fall 2018 9:30 AM” and click on the little word that says “site.”

Step 3: If you go to the top of the page, you will notice a plus sign with the word new next to it. Click on that.

Step 4: After clicking on it, you will be redirected to a page where you can add a new post. Write your title and start from there.

Step 5: If you wish to add media, there is a button that will let you add the media you want.

Step 6: After writing everything you wanted, look in the right side of the page where you see “categories.” Click on the “9:30 AM Class” option. Below that is the option of putting tags. You can add the tag you wish to add.

Step 7: You are now done with your post and can now publish it.

Easy Steps on How to Post on Your Blog!

Before starting to post on your blog, you must first log into your account. After logging into your account, there are certain easy steps that one should follow. Here it is…

Step 1: After logging into your profile, go to “My Commons”

Step 2: From there, click on “Art 1010 Fall 2018 9:30 AM”

Step 3: There are tiny words to the left of you, click on the small word that reads “Site”

Step 4: Look up! Theres a little (+) with the word “New” sitting next to it! Click on it!

Step 5: After clicking on “New”, you’ll see this whole page of different and weird small windows with a variety of options.

Step 6: Don’t get flustered! I am here to help. At the top, type in any title you may have in mind (having to do with the topic of course).

Step 7: Once you have finished working on your title, type away down below! Let your words run wild with imagination, humor and wit.

Step 8: When you are finished writing your material, if wanted, you can add an image, video or music. Just move your mouse under the title to where it says “Add media.” Click on it.

Step 9: From there you can access a whole gallery of pictures or music (where everything is stored). Use the pictures to make the blog more interesting or colorful. Everyone loves a little color in their lives!

Step 10: After everything has been proof read and the pictures are in their places, go to the right hand side of the page and look at the “categories” window and check of the box that says “9:30 AM Class”.

Step 11: If wanted, you can also add a tag (Ex: Blog Post 1)

THAT’S IT! We got through the worst of it together! Now all you have to do is click publish and everyone who you allow can read your beautiful and well put words. Also, if there is something that you may have forgotten to add, you can always click edit and fix whatever you are worried about.

How to Post a Blog

Before posting a blog you have to log into to your Commons account. Type in your username and password and press “Log In” at the bottom. Once you’re in, scroll the mouse up until you see “Fall 2018 Art 1010”. Then, on the left hand side you’re going to look for a word that says “Site”. Click on it and it should bring you to a site fill with different kinds of art in the background. Make sure to press ” 9:30 AM Class MW“!

To post on this site, use the mouse to go up until you see the word “New”. Once you reached the word, click on the word “Post”.  When you click on “post”, you can type as many words as you like. Using this is the same as using Microsoft Word or Google Docs (those are other word documents were people type up their assignments). There are many tools you can use that will help you write your blog post neater. You can add many links including pictures, videos, and even music.

To upload any music, pictures, or videos, bring the mouse up and look for “Add Media”. When you see “Add Media” click on it. It should bring to a page that can allow you to make your own gallery for pictures (a gallery is where all your pictures are stored) and make your own separate video or audio playlists (a playlist is a list in where all your videos and audio are located).

Once you’re completely done with your assignment, go down to categories and click on the box next to ” 9:30 AM Class” (a check should appear once you clicked the box). Then you roll the mouse up until you see “Tags”. Press on the box and type in “Blog Post 1: How to Post”. When you’re finished, press “Add”. Reread your work to make sure there aren’t any errors. When you’ve gone over your work, scroll the mouse down and click on a blue button that says “Publish”.

Not everyone should have the power of knowing how to properly blog. Some people’s thoughts should be tucked away neatly in the back of their head…and stay safely off the internet. However, with Freedom of Speech evidently comes Freedom to Blog.

If you find the task daunting, don’t! It’s done in six easy steps!

Step 1: Log into your profile and go to “My Commons”

Step 2: From there, click on “Art 1010 Fall 2018 9:30 AM”

Step 3: There are tiny words to the left of you, click on the small word that reads “Site”

Step 4:  Look up! There’s a little plus button (+) with the word “New” sitting next to it! Click on that bad boy!

Step 5: You’ve done it! You’re about to embark on your first blog journey! Type in a (not so) witty title and start writing whatever needs to be said!

Step 6: Let your anxiety consume you whole as you click that publish button and boom…your words are out there for all to read! (kind of)

Also be sure to check off the category that states what class you’re in, and if asked add a tag! All of this is seen off to the right.

Technically there’s 7 steps, but now you’re licensed to blog.

 

For Wednesday: Sign up for your groups and make a post on how to post

Hi all,

For Wednesday of this week, please continue to familiarize yourselves with the CUNY Academic Commons and then sign up for your class’s group on the Commons (this allows me to email you about assignments, reminders, etc.).

For Wednesday 9/5 you have a couple of assignments: 1) make a post on how to make a post. Literally, provide instructions to someone who may have never seen the site before on how to make a post. Think of this like explaining this to your grandmother. Please tag it with the Blog Post 1: How to Post tag.

Also for 9/5, please write down your art story, per the schedule and assignments and post it using the Blog Post 2: My Art Story tag.
