How to Make a Post (the Grandmother Edition)

Dear Grandmother,

Congratulations on getting a computer! You’ll get much use of it, I’m sure.  I’m sure you would like to know how to make a blog post, because who wouldn’t? Here are some instructions to help.

First-off, there is a site that you will need to go onto, here is the link  https://art1010shawfall18.commons.gc.cuny.edu click on it and it should take you to the correct site that you need.  Once you are on the site you will need to add yourself to the Art History Page. On the Left side of the screen, if you scroll down a little, you’ll see a button that says something along the lines of  “Add Recipient”. When you press it you’ll be automatically added to the page.

The first step is complete, great job!!! Next, On the top of the screen you’ll see a “+ New” click on it and a few choices come down.  Click on “Post”, and Boom you can start writing your blog!

Once you are finished, make sure to tag it and categorize it and then hit the button “Publish”.

I hope you found this helpful. if you have any questions, give me a call.

How To Formulate An Exemplary Post For Your Art Class

Posting a blog post can be a very daunting task at first, but if you follow my steps, you will be set.

The first step is to log into your CUNY Commons academic site. Or, you may click on this link to direct you straight to the art class: https://art1010shawfall18.commons.gc.cuny.edu/

When you register for an account, make sure to click the link above and it will redirect you to Professor Shaw’s Art 1010 Website. Once there, pick the time slot that applies to you (there’s only two available). If you are in the 9:30 PM class, pick that class.

If you are logged in, there is a menu bar on the top of the website. There you will find a “+ New” icon. Click that menu option to begin writing your post.

Once you click the “+ New” icon, you will be directed to a streamlined user interface that allows you to write whatever you want. Make sure to add a title/header and a picture that goes along with your post. Also, make sure to add a tag to further specify the type of post. You can add tags on the right menu bar; just scroll down until you find it.

Before you post, make sure your post doesn’t have any grammatical errors that may cause confusion. It’s always a good habit to check over your work for such mistakes!
